Welcome to Eng 693- Seminar in the Teaching of English in the Secondary School

Dr. Norris and I are excited to have an opportunity to team teach this course together and to introduce to you over the semester a plethora of practical and essential ideas and skills for your voyage into teaching. This Blog page will serve as a space for us to dialogue and work collaboratively together on ideas and concepts that emerge in class and in readings. Welcome!

Please answer the following questions and respond to each other on the Blog. In your thorough responses, refer to chapters 3 and 8 in Miller & Norris and chapters 1-4 in Nieto & Bode. Be sure to use proper in text citations, refer to class discussions, and respond thoughtfully to each others' comments. Feel free to pose questions to each other, challenge each other, and invite feedback. Dr. Norris and I will join in the conversation. Rather than have one massive response, post something, come back to it, and then respond to peers. You should respond at least three times.
